We design extensions, loft conversions and whole-house refurbishments for families across north London, most often in Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Islington, Haringey and Camden. Some clients have lived in a house for years and reached the point where it no longer fits how they live; others have just bought somewhere and want to reshape it before they move in.
We work closely with you to understand how you want to live and shape a brief around it. Every house starts from the particular person and place, and we have no house style of our own. We guide the project from first sketch to finished detail and stay involved through construction, so the built result matches the drawings.
In one part of Finsbury Park we have designed around a dozen mansard lofts, side returns and rear extensions, on streets with no previous consents for them. At Corbyn Street III, a rebuilt outrigger, side return and mansard loft made a Victorian terrace larger and warmer, and featured in The Sunday Times. North London Loft, a zinc-clad loft with a curved bathroom and a roof terrace, featured in Dwell. Two of our home projects have been shortlisted for the NLA Don't Move, Improve! awards, and many add insulation, better glazing and a heat pump at the same time, when the work costs least because the house is already opened up.
