We retrofit and extend offices and workshops in London, from 1980s office buildings in the City to purpose-built space for manufacturers. A commercial building has to earn its keep: it needs to use every metre well, meet a real programme and budget, and let easily to tenants whose needs you cannot fully predict when the work begins.

We are known for delivering on constrained and technically demanding sites, and increasingly for reworking existing commercial buildings rather than replacing them. Retrofit keeps embodied carbon in place and often yields more usable space than a new build would on the same footprint.

At Aldersgate House, a late-1980s office directly above Barbican station, the tunnels below cap any added load at 5%, so we are working entirely within the existing shell; the building moves to all-electric services and from an EPC of F/G towards B. Our design for the Peckham Watch Factory keeps a redundant warehouse and adds a saw-tooth, north-lit floor for an independent watchmaker, and won the NLA Award 2025 for Workplaces. The result is commercial space that performs for the owner and for the people who work in it.
