Works have started on site at Cockpit Studios in Deptford, where we are working with contractor Quinn London on a substantial refurbishment and new-build project for the arts organisation Cockpit. The project comprises three phases: a new rear studio building for makers, refurbishment of the first floor WCs and studios, and a full ground floor retrofit of the main 1960s building, including a new perforated aluminium façade to the street frontage.

Asbestos clearance is now complete and strip-out is underway across the building. Quinn have mobilised on site, with groundworks beginning in the rear yard. Working in a live building occupied by Cockpit's community of makers requires careful coordination throughout — site logistics, noise management, and phased handovers are all part of the contract from day one.
