With strip-out now complete across the ground floor of Cockpit's 1960s main building, the scale of the project is visible for the first time. Most ground floor partitions have been removed, the first floor bathrooms are stripped back to structure, and groundworks for the new rear studio building are progressing in the yard behind.

M&E contractor DBS Group are mobilising, with first fix electrical work starting this week. Working with Max Fordham as our M&E engineers, we have designed a services strategy that threads new distribution through the existing structure — surface-mounted galvanised conduit to existing walls, concealed runs within new partitions. The building is occupied throughout, with Cockpit's makers continuing to work in areas adjacent to the construction zone. Coordination between Quinn and Cockpit's team is central to how this project runs.
