Aldersgate House is taking shape on site. Partitions are going up across the floor plates and the first fix of mechanical and electrical services is under way, the point at which our retrofit for UCG starts to look like a building rather than a set of drawings.
Much of this is the all-electric reservicing at the heart of the scheme. New ductwork will be threaded beneath the existing downstand steel beams and coordinated with the lighting and pipework, so it reads as ordered once the ceilings are left exposed. Replacing the gas boilers with air source heat pumps moves the building towards an EPC B, up from the F/G it started at.
More to follow as the fit-out progresses.
