We have started work on a whole-house renovation for a family in the Crouch End Conservation Area, bringing together a rear extension, comprehensive refurbishment and full sustainability retrofit.

The clients are a musical family, and one of the principal reception rooms is being given over entirely to music. Elsewhere the brief includes two home offices, an air source heat pump, solar panels and rainwater harvesting, and a wish to keep hold of the house's stained glass and period tiling while making it work properly for the way they live now.

Given the conservation area setting, we are preparing for pre-application discussions with the council ahead of a full planning submission. More to follow as the design develops.
