Recent Cooke Fawcett projects include Quidhampton Mill House and Studio, and significant involvement in Cockpit Deptford. Oliver has led the practice's work with arts organisations including Bold Tendencies and CAST, developing successful funding bids and securing planning permissions for sensitive sites.

Oliver was Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge (2019-22), teaching undergraduate architecture students, and has been a visiting critic at several UK universities.

Earlier in his career, Oliver worked at Herzog & de Meuron (2007-13) where he was Project Architect for One Park Drive at Canary Wharf, rated BREEAM Outstanding. He also worked on the Tate Modern Extension, Blavatnik School of Government, and projects in Basel. Prior to that he worked at Renzo Piano Building Workshop (Paris), Jamie Fobert Architects, and Allies and Morrison.

A graduate of Harvard (MArch) and Cambridge (MPhil, MA), Oliver was a Director of Studies at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
