Oliver focuses on the practice's arts, community and residential projects, developing client relationships and championing design quality from initial enquiry through to completion. He led Quidhampton Mill House and Studio (RIBA South Award finalist 2025) and has been instrumental in securing funding and planning permissions for cultural projects including Bold Tendencies and CAST Cornwall.

In 2025 Oliver was appointed to the Lewisham Design Review Panel, providing expert advice on significant planning applications. With 25+ years' experience, he combines strategic thinking with detailed project delivery, helping clients articulate their vision and navigate complex planning and funding processes.

Recent Cooke Fawcett projects include Quidhampton Mill House and Studio (RIBA South finalist, AJ Small Projects finalist 2025), and significant involvement in Cockpit Studios Deptford (£2.25m, AJ Retrofit Awards Highly Commended 2025). Oliver has led the practice's work with arts organisations including Bold Tendencies and CAST, developing successful funding bids and securing planning permissions for sensitive sites.

Oliver was Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge (2019-22), teaching undergraduate architecture students, and has been a visiting critic at several UK universities.

Earlier in his career, Oliver worked at Herzog & de Meuron (2007-13) where he was Project Architect for One Park Drive at Canary Wharf, rated BREEAM Outstanding. He also worked on the Tate Modern Extension, Blavatnik School of Government, and projects in Basel. Prior to that he worked at Renzo Piano Building Workshop (Paris), Jamie Fobert Architects, and Allies and Morrison.

A graduate of Harvard (MArch) and Cambridge (MPhil, MA), Oliver was a Director of Studies at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
